Clarinol-XS in Children
Childhood obesity is a big problem associated with a large array of health problems later in life.
A study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition (Racine et al, Am J Clin Nutr doi: 10.3945/ajcn.2009.28404), shows promising effect to reduce body fat and increase lean body mass and therefore has an enormous promise in improving the health of children.
Although the fat reduction effect of Clarinol® has been observed in many clinical studies in both adult men and women, this study is the first to demonstrate the body fat-lowering effects of Clarinol® in overweight and obese children. The population consisted of fifty-three children who were overweight or obese and was randomized into two groups: a CLA group (n=28) and a placebo group (n=25). They were provided one chocolate milk with either three grams Clarinol® or placebo oil per serving once a day for six months. The children consuming the chocolate milk with Clarinol® showed a significant decrease in body fat and an increase in lean mass vs. the placebo group.
The children in the CLA group also showed a positive effect on the BMI. The blood parameters in both groups stayed within the normal range.
